I know… I missed another Thursday and Friday last week. Maybe I should change my posts to #EveryOtherThursdayWriteUp and #EveryOtherFridaySnippets?
Anyway, what a couple of weeks it’s been!
I’ve made good progress on a couple of my “secret” (and soon to be revealed) projects and better progress on my priority projects. Not only that, but I even posted to my blog outside of #FridaySnippets and #ThursdayWriteUp!
I’ll tell you about that in just a minute, along with some other exciting news. I want to get to my famous bullet list before the A.D.D. kicks in. 😉
Here’s the breakdown of my activity for the last two weeks:
- Wrote about 2,500 words on WIP
- Worked on more music
- Started designing a sofa table
- Almost blew up my laptop
- Contemplated snow zombies
- Lost about ten pounds (that’s short for “I only lost about 8 pounds. I shouldn’t have eaten the whole pack of Oreo’s. *sigh*”)
- Picked for “Klema On The Road”
- Fed the cat
Okay! Got that out of the way!
Last Saturday it FINALLY snowed here! Now, it only stuck for about half the day, but it was enough to prompt me to grab my phone and take a few pictures. One of the pictures struck me as a good writing prompt, so I posted it to my blog under “Snow Day Writing Prompt”. Now, I didn’t get a huge response from that post (which, by the way, is still open for participation! 😉 ) but one of my writer friends, Emerald Barnes, left an interesting comment:
“I tried this. Didn’t like what I came up with. lol Maybe I’ll try this again. I’m thinking about putting mine up on my blog and having my followers finish the story. I really don’t want to finish though. ;)”
That sounded good to me! Long story short – She has added to the fun by posting the beginning of a story that came from my Snow Day Writing Prompt on her blog: Emerald Barnes’ Dreaming Awake Blog. BONUS: You could win stuff if you submit an ending to her story! (Why didn’t I think of that? *sigh*).
Anyway, it’s a great beginning and I’m excited to see how you would end the story, so go to her blog and show us what you got! Don’t forget, there’s free stuff to be won! 😉
Thanks, Emerald, for adding to the fun! (Click here to read her post & maybe win free stuff! Do it. NOW!)
*Deep breath* And now, to the finish line:
I AM THE CHOSEN ONE!
This last week I saw a post on my FB page from Klema Guitars about their “Klema On The Road” – a brilliant promotion to get their guitars in the hands of folks that have possibly never played one before – and I responded to it… and got picked!
That’s right! I get to be the host for the E. TN part of their “Klema On The Road” tour!
What that means is that they are sending me “Klementine” – one of their K200DC-C guitars – and I get to put my hands all over her as I draw the ecstatic sounds of musical beauty from her… and then take her out on the town and show her (to) E. Tennessee. Then I get to autograph her before sending her to the next person on the tour.
Yeah, I’m just “off” enough to be pretty excited about having a date with an inanimate object.
That’s all I’m going to say about it in this post. But, if you’re interested, you can check out more here:
Along with a full review that will include reactions from some great musicians from the E. Tennessee music scene (Shameless, but WELL deserved plug for my friend Matt Woods who I’m hoping to catch up to this weekend with Klementine. Go ahead, click the link. You won’t be sorry!), I will be posting photos and videos of my “date” with Klementine. I will be posting some throughout the weekend via social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+ & Pinterest) and will post the rest after I get a chance to go through them and weed out those that
make me look fat aren’t really necessary. 😉
That’s about all that’s been going on for the last two weeks. What have you been up to?
Have a great week and thanks for spending time with me!
