#FridaySnippets 3 – More “Bodies”
avatar

I woke up this morning with “Bodies” in my head (see #FridaySnippets 1 – “Bodies”) so I poured some coffee and let my brain spill for a while.

Here’s a little of that brain-spill (unedited first rough):

What was he going to do when he ran out of space?

Clyde had no desire to dig where he already had. Sure, there would be nothing left but bones by the time he ran out of new spots, but who wants to dig through that? Especially when he would have to dig deeper to make sure they stayed where they were put.

That was it. He would have to start digging deeper.

Another thing that worried him was the chance of somebody finding the bodies before he did. Nobody came that far into the property earlier than sunrise, and he was always awake and out on the porch by then.

But what if?

There was a gate at the end of his drive, but it was more for looks than to keep anyone out. Closing it only kept polite people from entering without ringing the big iron bell he had hung on the road side of the gate.

But what if?

What if he got sick and didn’t get out of bed one day? What if something happened in the valley and one of his neighbors came for help? And what about the mornings that he wasn’t there at all? Occasionally he would leave the house for more than a day, but there were never any bodies left for him when he did – at least, not that he knew of.

Thanks for reading my #FridaySnippet! Feel free to… no, check that. PLEASE share your thoughts in the comments below I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Wow! Now that is something that has me asking a lot of questions… What bodies and why does he need to move them? Hmmmmm…. Fun story and character!

Those are good questions. I’ll let you know when I find the rest of the answers! lol I’m having fun with it. It’s got my fingers typing at quite a pace now!

      Thanks!

  2. This is getting even creepier. I really want to know who is responsible for the bodies. They clearly know Clyde’s comings and goings. Creepy!

“Creepier” makes me happy for this one!

Yes, they know plenty. I promise. 😉

I’m having a blast with this one (and with #FridaySnippets!).

      Thanks so much!
